One day it all came to a stand still

One day it all came to a stand still

I do not have fairy tales to tell,
Historical events or wars to speak of
But when the next generation will ask,
I will say it with a deep pause

One day it all came to a stand still
Their curiosity is bound to rise
I will then need to surmise
For the only time in history of mankind
The entire world was under ‘Lockdown’
One day it all came to a stand still
Everything stopped! But why?
There was an invisible enemy
No one could see but had to fight
In this battle thousands had to die
One day it all came to a stand still
It will become confusing for them
I will have to give it a simple turn
It was a virus that was very deadly
It took lives which it infected
One day it all came to a stand still
For weeks and months altogether
No one moved freely on the streets
The fear of loosing life was stark
They will soon realize it was very dark
One day it all came to a stand still
Who fought the battle if everyone was home?
I will dedicate the story to them once again
Brave souls who formed essential services
The doctors and nurses who fought it hard
One day it all came to a stand still
They will be curious to know more!
The world was full of despair and lost hope
Uncertainty and fear captured all minds
With folded hands we waited for a ray of light
One day it all came to a stand still
How did we win then?
The only way was to break the chain
Pray for our families and friends
Isolate the sick and stay at home
One day it all came to a stand still

We had heard miracles happen
The enemy vanished as it came
Not before we all paid a heavy price
Taking losses was the only choice
One day it all came to a stand still
The civilisation moved with time
Transformed and changed was our world
For your beautiful today my little one
We rose again to live life, but you must remember
One day it all came to a stand still!
